Hiroyuki Hashimoto's second chef, Takashi Konno, opened Sushi Miyuki at the original location of Sushi Hashimoto (review here) in June 2022.  Setting aside Sushi Masa, which is actually a standing sushi restaurant, it's the cheapest sushi restaurant in Tokyo listed on Omakase with lunch priced at just JPY 8,800 for 12 nigiri and one temaki.  Inevitably reservations were difficult right from the start but I waited a few months for the restaurant to settle in before booking.

The restaurant hasn't been refurbished since being vacated by Hashimoto and is looking a little dated.  Both sides of the L-shaped counter are the same width so if you're seated at one of the far corners chef will have his back to you.  The restaurant seats up to 8, which might be a little tight.  On my visit there were 6 diners.  The restaurant was warm on a cold day.

With a few very notable exceptions the neta was very high quality and large.  The akagai and anago were not the best but the biggest fault with the neta was with the tuna.  The akami was not zuke and had a very strong aftertaste.  The chutoro was sliced thinly and similarly had a strong aftertaste.  The aftertaste from the tuna was so strong it spoiled the next couple of items.  Some of the neta was perhaps a little cold (the akami, sanma and ikura) but temperature control was good, otherwise.  The main problem though was with the rice.  This was the hardest shari I can remember eating, so hard I thought about asking for smaller rice half way into the meal.

Chef was a little quiet to start with but warmed up as service went on and engaged in some conversation.  No English is spoken.

You might say you get what you pay for but you'd have a much better meal at Tomidokoro or Sushi Taichi and it would be 2-3k less.
