The best pieces in the set were the oyster and (a first for me) half an Echizen seiko gani tempura. But the meal ended with what felt like a lot of not very pleasant oil: a greasy anago and oleaginous May Queen. So despite there being only 11 tempura served and only one shrimp I didn't want to pay for the extras of kisu and uni that were available to add at the end.
Chef doesn't speak English and will keep his head down frying unless you initiate conversation in Japanese. Service from okami-san, who can speak some English, was exemplary, topping up my daikon and kyuri amazu-zuke multiple times.
Based on the fact that I don't remember the oil being a problem on my Saitama visits I would have given him another go (and traveled if required) if it had still been 9k but there are better tempura restaurants in Tokyo at or around the same price.
