Dinner courses start from JPY 11,000 but a seven to eight course lunch is available for JPY 6,600 inclusive, which is what I went for.

The fish and meat courses were generously portioned and the quality of ingredients was very good.  The best dishes in the course were the matsutake and suppon soup, which was good enough to grace the table of any restaurant in Tokyo and the dessert of anin tofu topped with a rich Jasmine tea.  The fried rice was a bit greasy and unmemorable.

The restaurant is operated by one chef and one person serving guests.  My companion and I were the only customers this lunchtime.  They had set us up for a private room but we asked to be moved to the counter (where ventilation was very poor).  All the dishes were properly explained by the server.  The chef worked mostly in silence but came to the door to see us off.

Overall, this was excellent value for money and I would go back.
