From 1st April 2024 the four course lunch increased in price from JPY 4,400 + service to JPY 5,500 and the eight course dinner from JPY 11,000 to JPY 12,000 + service.  I went for lunch just before the price rise.

First up Jerusalem artichoke pottage.  This must have been the thickest Jerusalem artichoke pottage I've ever had.  Always good, but would have benefited from using the skin to make crisps to add texture.  After a salad of cooked and raw vegetables and kinmedai kobjujime the main course of pork sumiyaki, onion puree, red wine risotto, choucroute, yuzu kosho.  The wine had been over-reduced making for a sickly dish.  Dessert was dried kaki with vanilla creme patissiere, chocolate tuile and an oba and white wine sorbet on the side.  The sorbet was refreshing but the main dessert didn't do it for me.  Lunch was served with homemade campagne.  The chef is proud of his bread, so proud that only one slice was offered.

The chef was pleasant but there was no conversation.  You can enjoy the hip-hop on in the background if you're on your own.

If Japan Times can get back to featuring restaurants that people can actually book, instead of those that don't take reservations from new customers or are pop-ups that are fully booked before the story goes to print this is exactly the sort of restaurant I can imagined being featured.  It'll mention the chef is ex Ata and has done stints at Ode and worked at Toyosu fish market and a bakery; it'll refer to the cool space designed by the people who designed Kabi, Songbook and AC House; it will tell you the chef can speak English.  It won't tell you there's no originality in any of the dishes, the quality of the ingredients is only good and the hospitality is poor.  So if you do ever see Atti featured I would file the article in your recycling.
