Patissiere Mayo (review here) moved up a floor in the same building and in its place Mayo Miyata has opened an ice-cream shop. 750 yen buys you one cup (there's only one size) of gelato with a choice of up to two flavours. 'Premium' flavours attract an extra charge of 100 yen each. A 'kids cup' is 370 yen. There are up to nine flavours to choose from, labeled in Japanese and English, with up to three being premium (marked with a star) so no complaints about price gouging.
There's a terrace on the third floor of the building where you can eat.The ice-cream is very high quality and not oversweet. 750+ yen is not cheap but high-quality products aren't and this is way better than the sugar and water served at, for example, a big name opening a couple of years back that'll charge you the same amount.
As I was with Patissiere Mayo I was skeptical going in but this is one of the best quality ice-cream shops in Tokyo and in a great location. I've upped my score based on my second visit.
