Anda Gyoza

Anda Gyoza (按田餃子)

🥟 Gyoza / 📍 Yoyogi/Futakotamagawa

📓 Visits: 1

Anda Gyoza is a popular restaurant and the clue to the food is in the name.  The original branch is in Yoyogi Uehara and has a Bib Gourmand.  A second branch opened in Futakotamagawa in 2018 but is bib-less.  That makes little sense since the food, menu and prices are identical.  The gyoza served here are not the ubiquitous kind you find in Japan but a steamed variation with skin flavoured with roasted brown oats.  There are four kinds of fillings to choose from.  The minimum order is five pieces per kind so most people order the "sui gyoza teishoku" for JPY 1,320 which comes with two pieces of each filling, "buta soboro meshi" (minced pork on rice) and soup.  Staff didn't speak English on my visit but they have an English menu.

Food arrived after about 10 mins.  I liked the rice (although it was Japanese rice) but the gyoza were not for me.  The skins are thick and I didn't like the fillings.  It's just not to my taste so I'm not going to rate it.  I'd only recommend it if you're feeling adventurous or it's the sort of food you've enjoyed before.
