Hamburg / ๐ Akasaka

Lunch is hamburg starting from JPY 1,280 depending on the size and toppings you choose. I arrived at 13:50. The restaurant was full but I was seated in five minutes. All seating is at a counter which faces the grill so you're going to whiff a bit when you leave. They'd run out of standard-sized burgers so I had to pay the 380 yen extra to go from 200g to 300g and opted for the "beef tendon and mushroom demiglace sauce with egg" topping.Lunch includes a fairly standard salad and sweetcorn pottage which wasn't any better than something that comes out of a packet. The hamburg was served 8 mins after I sat down. Very dense with meat, it's made from pork and beef at a ratio of 3:2. The beef tendon was mostly gristle. You can choose rice or bread, which is supplied by Akasaka Bakery Soyba, and was great for people who like it soft and sweet.
If you went for the most basic option at JPY 1,280 you might be quite happy but, while it's pretty common in Japan, pork mince just doesn't do it for me and it takes away all the richness from the beef. Overall the best thing in the lunch was the half jacket potato.

❓ My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ 3.4
๐ฑ Booking: No bookings at lunch. Although lunch is served till 3 they'd "sold out" by 2:15 on my visit and, as I mentioned, standard-sized burgers finished earlier. No English spoken, no English menu.
