Soma Suisan are a tuna wholesalers based in Toyosu Market. But they also operate a restaurant specialising in (you've guessed it) with the savings passed on to you. There are nine choices of kaisendon but most people go for the JPY 1,300 lunch which consists of a choice of two items from a list of twenty-eight, rice, miso soup and pickles. An English set lunch menu is available, as is a low-res picture menu, both of which are reproduced below.
#1 maguro, maguro, maguro and #24 maguro kama-ni.
#28 maguro confit salad and #14 maguro noten yaki.

Food arrives in about 5 minutes. The sashimi is fresh and not too cold. The confit salad was slightly better than tinned tuna. The pick of the options is #10 "grilled tuna collar with herb salt". If you've never had maguro kama before I highly recommend it. It's one of the cheapest cuts but also one of the tastiest. It's bigger than it looks in the picture and there's meat on the underside too. The grilled tuna collar is bigger than #24 the boiled tuna collar and if you prefer it salty rather than sweet you'll prefer this. With tuna being higher in protein than steak there's enough to keep you going until dinner. Refills of rice are free and the rice is excellent. The side dish, pickles and miso soup are less good.
The teishoku lunch is ubiquitous in Japan but there aren't many places with as much choice or with an English menu and with prices held since the restaurant opened in July 2021 you get a good feed for your money here.
