🍜 Noodles / 📍 Ebisu

📓 Visits: 3 (2022-2023)

Feumen is back.  The noodle restaurant from Comptoir Feu (now Feu) and Saika that couldn't even give away its noodles away has re-opened in Ebisu.  Operating from Inami, actually a yakiniku restaurant, but from 11:30-14:30 Monday to Saturday you won't find any beef served here.

Compared with the original restaurant in Omotesando there are fewer options on the menu (just Feumen or ebi dandan), fewer toppings to choose from (ontama, cheese, coriander, fried onion) and the decor isn't comparable but the noodles (and sauce) are exactly the same.  Original restaurant manager and chef, Atsu, makes them daily by hand.

Prices moved a couple of times in the past.  Here a bowl of noodles costs JPY 1,000 and includes one topping.  A large serving is 100 yen more.

I never really got why the original restaurant never really caught on and with much less presence this time around I don't think Atsu can operate like this indefinitely.  But as long as he's here I'll keep going back and if quality noodles in a shrimp-based sauce that packs a punch sounds up your street then I'd be surprised if you left disappointed.
